Everyone, Welcome back from a nice long break, it has been fun....who is to say we should stop having fun! Lots of welcome week activities are happening all over Campus, here is the inside information of what to look for! TODAY! Aug 25 at 6:00 pm BBQ In front of the Spire on the Lawn (on the other side of the Building from ETC) Every Year for the beginning of Fall there is a HUGE BBQ in-front of the Spire for everyone, students, couples, random friends, everyone is welcome! It is a lot of fun, there is music, games, and new faces to meet and maybe become a great friend! (either way, it's a Free meal! so why not!) I always invite the international coffeehouse group and new students to this and share freshly grilled hamburgers, hot-dogs, the smells filling your nose....are you hungry yet?! Starting with Quad day! this Sunday 12-4pm This event happens every year, just about every organization worth knowing will be out there, us too! there is free gifts at many of the tables, people will be preforming, and showing demos! If you would like to help with Anything on Quad day we could always use people that can tell other international students what ETC is, about trips, and what you like about it! Music of the Day (from R.O.K.) - Boa - Hurricane Venus Boa Kwon (1986 - ) is a big pop singer in Korea as well as in East/Southeast Asia and the USA.This year is her tenth working as a singer/composer, and some of her songs has been performed in NYC, San Francisco, LA and so on. Being very new icon here, she is still putting more and more efforts, but for now she came back to her homeland and introduced a new song, titled "Hurricane Venus."

Visiting Japan house and Gardens ->  August 6th! -The mission of Japan House at the University of Illinois is to provide an academic, cultural, and natural setting for promoting an appreciation of Japanese culture and related Asian cultural concepts. Built around the concept of the Way of Tea, with three authentic tearooms, Japan House hosts classes and outreach programs that explore traditional Japanese arts and aesthetics.
